Peep
Chuan Tsai, An-Jung Huang
"Peep" is a work originates from an observation of how the internet era fuels voyeuristic desires. With the addition of internet platforms, reality shows and similar programs have become more prevalent, satisfying people's voyeuristic desires while pushing everyone into a frenzy of criticism. This piece has three parallel narrative threads that converge into a single ending after all are experienced. Through this work, we aim to highlight how the internet's promotion of voyeurism will ultimately backfire on ourselves.

Narrative Threads
01
Surveillance Footage

This section utilizes a projector and a mouse. Viewers can see scenes resembling those captured by surveillance cameras, including personal disputes and conflicts. Viewers can move the mouse and click to zoom in the scene.

02
Window
This section utilizes a screen and arduino components. Viewers can lean closer to the window, and a continuously zooming-in video related to ethical and societal controversies will start playing. If viewers leave midway, the video will pause and only resume when they approach again.
03
Mirror

This part utilizes a pad and combines real-time stream diffusion. Viewers can perform a two-finger zoom-in gesture on the mirror to delve deeper into the inner world of the contestant on the dating reality show.
Ending
Viewers will find themselves been captured by a hidden webcam and be displayed on screens. We aim to have viewers reflect on "truth" through internet-era voyeurism and its impacts. By highlighting the harm of careless judgment and indulgent discussion, we warn that this criticism will eventually backfire.
